皆様、こんにちは。

ついに、ダライ・ラマ法王日本代表部事務所に別れを告げる時が来ました。私チョペ・ペルジョル・ツェリンは、亡命チベット中央行政府（CIT）の規定により、2007年５月末日をもって公務から引退いたします。

4年半に及ぶダライ・ラマ法王日本代表部事務所での在任期間中、3度のダライ・ラマ法王来日を大成功のうちに終えることができ、また、東京にて数々のチベット関連のイベントを行なうことができたことは、大変名誉なことであるとともに光栄なことであります。
これほどの成功を収めることができましたのも、皆さまの暖かなご支援とご協力があってのことと思います。ここに改めて、心からの感謝を申し上げたいと思います。

大変喜ばしいことに、新代表にはラクパ・ツォコ氏が就任いたします。ラクパ・ツォコ氏は、直近ではチベット中央行政府の上級職員を務めておりましたが、以前、長年にわたってダライ・ラマ法王日本代表部事務所の職員をしておりましたので、日本のことは熟知しております。私の任期中と同様の暖かなご支援とご協力を、ラクパ・ツォコ氏就任後も賜りますよう、よろしくお願い申し上げます。
皆様からのご支援、ならびに個々の方々のご尽力に感謝するとともに、日本ではチベットの文化やチベット問題への関心と興味が高まりつつあることを感じております。この動きが今後も続いていくよう願っております。

私は、日本で定年を迎えたことを幸運に思います。「美しい日本」—— 美しい自然や景観、美しい古寺、そして何より人々の美しい習慣、そして私たちチベットとも共通する仏教文化の遺産 —— の思い出を、私はいつまでも忘れることなく持ち続けることでしょう。

皆様、どうもありがとうございました。心より感謝申し上げます。

Farewell

The time has come for me to bid farewell as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for East Asia. As per service rules of the Central Tibetan Administration in Exile, I shall be retiring from active service by the end of this month – May 2007.

During the past four and half years of my service as the Representative for Japan and East Asia, I have had the honor and privilege to head this office in coordinating three highly successful visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Japan and several Tibetan cultural events in Tokyo. They would not have been so successful without the kind support and cooperation you have extended to us. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude once more.

I am very happy to announce that Mr. Tshogo Lhakpa will be the New Representative. Mr. Tshogo is a senior staff of the Central Tibetan Administration who hardly needs any introduction in Japan as he has served here as the Secretary for the Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for a long time. I would like to request all to extend the same support and cooperation to Mr. Tshogo Lhakpa as you have kindly extended to us during my term of service. Thanks to your support and everyone’s collective effort, I feel there is growing awareness and interest in Tibetan culture and Tibet issue in Japan and we need to keep it up.

I feel fortunate to be retiring from Japan. I will take with me an everlasting memory of BEAUTY of JAPAN – the Beautiful natural landscape, the beautiful architecture of old temples and most importantly the beauty and beautiful manner of the people of Japan.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
